The federal database, which can be accessed at openpaymentsdata.cms.gov, contains information reported by companies about payments made to physicians for things like travel, research, gifts, speaking fees, and meals. It also includes ownership interests that physicians or their immediate family members have in those companies.
The information disclosed under federal law may not give a complete picture of any individual physician's relationships with industry.
